The difficulties faced by the various downtown Presbyterian churches — all of which traced their origins to First Presbyterian Church — ultimately led to their reconsolidation, through a series of mergers. Today Covenant-First Presbyterian Church is an amalgamation representing the unification of the following churches over the course of 235 years.
